A fire ban has been implemented for the safety of our Firefighters and the community. We are currently in a state of emergency in Ontario and we need to do our part in reducing social interactions to limit the spread and exposure of COVID-19. The purpose of the burn ban is to limit the calls our Firefighters respond to. At this time our Firefighters need to be healthy and available for actual emergencies in the community.

There is no issue with boiling sap during the ban as long they meet the following conditions.: fire is to be contained to a wood stove type unit with proper venting. The fire is not to be left unattended. There is some sort of extinguisher near by, ex: water hose, fire extinguisher. As always, keep a safe distance from out buildings.
