GFL has taken everything into account and has decided to re-open the facility to residential drop-off customers on Monday, May 4th.  A few conditions are listed below:

  • No cash being accepted – tap credit or debit only;
  • For larger loads that need to be unloaded at the tipping face, residents must bring their own PPE (hard hats, vests and steel toes).  We will not be lending PPE to any customers.
    • Note that the majority of residents do not need to access the tipping face.  Loads are usually small enough to be unloaded at the residential bin area (no PPE needed);
  • GFL requests that residents come to site with a face mask or cover to protect our scale house attendants.

Burn Ban in Effect

The fire ban was implemented for the safety of our Firefighters and the community. We are currently in a state of emergency in Ontario and we need to do our part in reducing social interactions to limit the spread and exposure of COVID-19. The purpose of the burn ban is to limit the calls our Firefighters respond to. At this time our Firefighters need to be healthy and available for actual emergencies in the community.

North Stormont Arena – Closure

Due to the current Covid-10 pandemic we have made the difficult decision to remove the ice and close the arena for the reminder of this season. We appreciate your patience and understanding and look forward to seeing everyone when we reopen in the fall.
