BERWICK, Ontario - The Township of North Stormont is getting a new home!
Effective March 5, administration activities will transition to the new township hall, located at 57 Cockburn Street, Berwick. All administrative functions, and staff, will move to the new location.
The existing building at 15 Union Street has been deemed surplus, and will soon be listed for sale.
"This move has been months in the making, and I wish to thank staff, our partners and the community at large for their work and patience as we complete this transition," said Mayor Francois Landry. "We look forward to welcoming members of the public, as well as residents and visitors to our new location at 57 Cockburn Street, the former home of North Stormont Public School."
As a consequence of this week's move, the township office will be closed Tuesday, March 4, reopening on March 5 at the new location.
In addition to housing all the administrative functions of the township, the new Cockburn Street location will also be home to Happy Face Nursery School.
